Master weaver Emily Malone has returned to the 1870’s and 1880’s as her inspiration for this design, which is reminiscent of the wearing blankets of the Transitional period. Spiderwoman or Hubbell crosses decorate the center of the rug and complex keys and diamonds frame them with perfect symmetry. Emily has further enhanced this distinctive design by using a muted Burntwater palette of vegetal color. The rug is floorworthy with an appropriate pad, but we can see it gracing a bed, table, wall or banister. Emily’s feather hallmark appears in the lower left of the picture at left.
Emily is part of the second generation of the family of weavers known collectively as the Spider Rock Girls. She has taught all of her daughters to weave, and is a full time weaver. Emily lives in Chine, Arizona.
Please remember that there is a wide variation in the way monitors render color. We will be glad to mail you detailed photographs, and we will discuss approval/refund terms for your purchase. We understand that a rug is a major purchase, and we are committed to your satisfaction.
