This rug is a very rare and  fine tapestry item that was Woven in 1961. The rug was woven by Master Weaver Esther Manuelito. She is also known as Esther Silentman, Taugelchee, Jimmy, and Gould. She is featured in “The Master Weavers” by Mark Winter as well as many other publications. She was an active weaver from the 1930’s to 1960’s. She lived a long life from 1903-1991.  This rug has complete documentation including the original sales receipt from 1962 along with three ribbons from 1975,1978,and 1979. The rug was also featured in the Collectors Guide.

About the Weaver: Esther Silentman

Wove from 1930’s to 1960’s lived from 1903 to 1991. Esther went by Several last names including Gould Taugelchee, Manuelito,and Jimmy. Her weavings are among the finest tapestry rugs woven. She is featured in “The Master Weavers” by Mark Winter
